Catering By Design

Peter Loevy, a graduate of Colgate University, came to Philadelphia to attend The Restaurant School. After several years of restaurant training and working with other caterers, Peter opened Catering By Design in 1991. Daniel Love became a partner in Catering By Design at the start of 1998. Dan’s background in theater, hotel and museum catering added a diverse set of experiences and accomplishments to our company.

The philosophy of Catering By Design is to respect the freshness and quality of ingredients and how these flavors interact. Whether it is producing the distinctive cuisine of a particular region or creating a cross-cultural masterpiece, the goal is to achieve balance and excitement in every dish. The name Catering By Design is also the company’s raison d’etre. Our culinary art is embraced and embellished by the style of its presentation.

CBD is a full service off premise caterer that offers an array of event planning services. CBD proudly provides seasonal specific menus, exceptional staff and a full service décor division, garnish. We know that every event comes with its own unique set of circumstances, parameters, goals, etc. As such each event is tailored to these ends. Each menu is carefully crafted, staff personally selected and prepared, and the décor, executed by garnish, will be imagined and brought to life by a full-scale division. Large or small CBD works hand in hand to make certain all of your goals are obtained and dreams come true.
