Progressive Business Publications, a diversified information company, develops print and digital information resources to help business professionals and companies become more effective.

Founded more than 50 years ago by Ed Satell, Progressive Business Publications has quietly achieved unparalleled success in the field of specialized information and education services, becoming a leading source for high-quality, quick-read information, best practices, executive education, and contemporary insights.

From a small startup, Progressive Business Publications has grown to more than 700 employees, proudly serving more than 150,000 companies across the nation and the globe.

Progressive Business Publications high-impact resources and newsletters help professionals in nearly every industry and job function perform their jobs better.

Progressive Business Publications’ commitment to its customers has led it to continually improve the quality of its products and services.

From Walt Disney to The United Way, The Philadelphia Eagles to Bob’s Crane Service, Progressive Business Publications serves the needs of organizations of all shapes and sizes.

With a dedication to empowering people and a commitment to strong corporate values, Progressive Business Publications attracts and retains an extraordinary staff of talented professionals. More than half of Progressive Business Publications’ full-time employees have been with the company for 5+ years. PBP’s unique culture stresses long-term thinking with respect to our customers, our employees and their financial goals.

Managers encourage their staff to make an impact, and give their employees the coaching, training and resources to succeed.
We also like to empower our employees to also make a difference individually. This comes through in several programs, each allowing our employees to pursue interests that are meaningful to them. These programs bring to life the strong company values that attract such high-caliber talent to work at PBP.

Each summer the company brings in a select group of high-potential college students to take part in the Progressive Business Publications' internship program. Interns are given real responsibilities and an opportunity to gain hands-on business experience in digital marketing, editorial, information technology, and accounting.

Progressive Business Publications is deeply invested in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. The company is proud to give back to the community, partnering with 26 leading nonprofits to support more than 30 high-impact, and ongoing projects at leading organizations such as The National Constitution Center, World Affairs Council, Junior Achievement, The University of Connecticut and many more. Our disciplined approach to our public responsibility is keenly focused in supporting three important areas: Disadvantaged children, young people of promise, and research for cancer and energy solutions.

One of Progressive Business Publications’ most gratifying partnerships has been with Cook Wissahickon Elementary School. Almost 16 years ago, PBP adopted this failing inner-city school, and developed and funded a host of support programs for students and faculty. These include a one-to-one student mentorship program and before and-after-school programs. Cook Wissahickon’s school rankings have gone from bottom 20% to top 20%, as the school has experienced a tremendous turnaround. Many of Progressive Business Publications’ employees have contributed to the success, having donated more than 15,000 hours of their time to mentor at-risk students.

Another proud partnership is with The Franklin Institute, where the company helped develop a S.T.E.M. Scholar program for talented high school students from the most economically-challenged areas of the city. This program is becoming a model for similar initiatives around the world.
