Each summer the company brings in a select group of high-potential college students to take part in the Progressive Business Publications' internship program. Interns are given real responsibilities and an opportunity to gain hands-on business experience in digital marketing, editorial, information technology, and accounting.

COMMUNITY FOCUSED

Progressive Business Publications is deeply invested in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. The company is proud to give back to the community, partnering with 26 leading nonprofits to support more than 30 high-impact, and ongoing projects at leading organizations such as The National Constitution Center, World Affairs Council, Junior Achievement, The University of Connecticut and many more. Our disciplined approach to our public responsibility is keenly focused in supporting three important areas: Disadvantaged children, young people of promise, and research for cancer and energy solutions.

One of Progressive Business Publications’ most gratifying partnerships has been with Cook Wissahickon Elementary School. Almost 16 years ago, PBP adopted this failing inner-city school, and developed and funded a host of support programs for students and faculty. These include a one-to-one student mentorship program and before and-after-school programs. Cook Wissahickon’s school rankings have gone from bottom 20% to top 20%, as the school has experienced a tremendous turnaround. Many of Progressive Business Publications’ employees have contributed to the success, having donated more than 15,000 hours of their time to mentor at-risk students. 

Another proud partnership is with The Franklin Institute, where the company helped develop a S.T.E.M. Scholar program for talented high school students from the most economically-challenged areas of the city. This program is becoming a model for similar initiatives around the world.
