The 19th annual Global Solutions Lab will be June 18-30 at Drexel University in Philadelphia, hosted by Drexel’s Office of Global Engagement and The Environmental Collaboratory. This year’s Lab will be both in-person at Drexel University and online. As in previous years, Lab participants will be from all over the world, be briefed by UN and other experts on the state of the world, and work in cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, multinational, and inter-generational Design Teams on developing designs and plans for reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals—real solutions to real world problems.

This year the Lab will focus on climate change, providing clean electricity to those without access, and participant-suggested topics that coincide with the SDGs.

Online tuition cost is $250. In-Person tuition is $950. Tuition includes:
  • Attendance at all lectures by UN and other guest speakers
  • Design Science methodology, templates, and tools
  • Over 50 of the latest state of the world documents from UN agencies and other global organizations, plus factsheets and other handouts on global data, problems, and options
  • Design Team collaborations
  • Invitation Letter (if needed for visa to travel to the US)
  • Completion Certificate
  • Publication of your work after the Lab in Designs for a World That Works for All book, online in the Global Solutions Database, and other appropriate venues.
  • Post-Lab help and mentoring on further developing your work and getting it implemented.
There are a limited number of partial tuition scholarships available for applicants who will not be able to cover the tuition cost.
