SHIFTING NARRATIVES: Rethinking the Past to understand the Present

Date:
Saturday, April 16, 2016 - 10:00am - 4:00pm
Location:
The African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch Street
Philadelphia, PA 19106
United States

The year 2016 is a celebratory year for the convening partners of this symposium: The African American Museum in Philadelphia celebrates their 40th Anniversary, the National Park Service celebrates their 100th Birthday, and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture opens its doors to the public. This symposium quite literally seeks to encourage a free exchange of ideas. No admission fee will be charged and no honoraria will be offered. The hosts are most interested in recent and current work.
