This year will be the first virtual Solas Awards and while it will be different from past events, we are excited to be able to welcome everyone to join us in experiencing The Welcoming Center. During Solas 2021, you will have the opportunity to virtually network with others in The Welcoming Center community, learn more about the impact your support has on immigrants in Philadelphia, and watch a live conversation with our 2021 Solas Award honoree, Dr. José Ramón Fernández-Peña hosted by our friend and former colleague, Amanda Bergson-Shilcock.

Working in conjunction with the Philadelphia Office of Arts Culture and the Creative Economy, and Parks on Tap, Global Philadelphia is hosting a night to kick off our GP17 Expo with a mobile beer garden, food trucks, and live music. 

Farah Siraj is a Jordanian virtuoso vocalist named as Jordan's "Musical Ambassadress."

Come and experience a taste of Lebanon, from delicious Middle Eastern food to traditional dance and music as well as a performance from St. Maron's Dabke Troop.

The Welcome Reception introduces international students and scholars to the Philadelphia area and to the rich network of global communities and resources in the region. The event is provided free of charge to international students and scholars from universities in the Delaware Valley region, featuring live multicultural performances and cuisine.

SUKHISHILI has performed for fifty million people in eighty-eight countries on five continents. It was a headline attraction with New York City Ballet for the George Balanchine Centennial. It has previously performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Avery Fisher Hall, Madison Square Garden Albert Hall, the Rome Coliseum and La Scala where it was enthusiastically welcomed with rousing ovation and a record-setting number of curtain calls.

THE SECRET TRIO is a mesmerizing new band with established musicians that play authentically Turkish and Mediterranean music. It features kanun virtuoso TAMER PINARBASI, world-renowned composer/oud master ARA DINKJIAN, and clarinet prodigy ISMAIL LUMANOVSKI.

Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture and the Concert Artist Series of Haverford College present legendary Lebanese singer/oud master and UNESCO Artist for Peace Marcel Khalife.
