What’s better than spending the summer on the water? Join us this month for Paddle Penn’s Landing, the only place in the city where you can rent a paddle boat and explore Philadelphia from a completely different viewpoint.

NJ’s Official Tall Ship A.J. Meerwald will offer public and educational sails along the Delaware River this July departing from Independence Seaport Museum (ISM) docks at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia. Experience history aboard this authentically restored 1928 Delaware Bay oyster schooner. Help hoist the sails or sit back and relax. Once aboard the crew share the boat's rich maritime history, the shellfish industry along the Delaware River and Bay and culture of those that lived and worked in the industry.

How did the bottom of three giant sailboats end up shipwrecked at the water’s edge in South Philadelphia? Join our guides on a trip to the Three Sisters Shipwrecks to explore this wildly Philadelphia story of greed, corruption, curiosity, and fire during a beginner-level paddle on the Delaware River. This excursion is best paired with the At the Water’s Edge exhibit. *Must be at least 18 years of age or older to participate. Cost: $65
