Jeudi 11 mai 2023, aux environs de 10 heures du matin, dans la chambre 400 de la mairie de Philadelphie, un groupe d’haïtiennes et d’Haïtiens se présentaient pour assister à l’établissement du mois de mai comme « Haitian Heritage Month-Mois du Patrimoine Haïtien ». 

Les assistants étaient au nombre de 8, dont : Irma Wilson, Merytony Nathan, Alain Joinville, Joel Leon, Yves Marie Désir, Billy Souffrant , Olivia Gabriel and Toussaint Jensen.
