At age 11, Michael spent a year in Norway with his family. He attended a Norwegian school and began his immersion into Norwegian culture, mainly through the new sports introduced to him. He would not return for 16 years and through that and subsequent visits he developed an appreciation for the country, people and culture, although he is not of Norwegian descent. He is reunited with friends and gains new experiences.

Ms. Torrey was a graduate of Moorestown Friends School. Ms. Torrey’s focus was on modern dance and English at Bennington College, but she left Martha Graham and Shakespeare behind after graduation and pursued an interest in international relations. She soon found her way to the United Nations, newly created in 1945, where she served its prime charter aims of maintaining international peace, fundamental human rights and the equal rights of men, women and nations. She spent the next 50 years of her career working toward these goals.

Philadelphia International Medicine signs deal with Panama clinic

Philadelphia International Medicine (PIM) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Panama Clinic in Panama.

Edgar Vesga, president and CEO of PIM, said the document will allow the Panama City clinic to collaborate with PIM hospitals and physicians in education and clinical care — particularly in areas of neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology and telemedicine.
