Sponsored by The Halloran Family Foundation, the mural unveiling will be apart of Wawa Welcome America’s event line-up and present a bold, elegant interpretation of the goal, reinforcing their commitment to promote just, peaceful, and inclusive societies.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action set forth by the United Nations for all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize thatending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including social justice, education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection. This mural will reflect Sustainable Development Goal #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions as means to create more inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at
all levels.

The event will include musical performances by Philadelphia’s own Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, followed by remarks from GPA, Project HOME, Mural Arts, The Halloran Family Foundation, and City Representative Sheila Hess. Concluding the speakers, the mural will be unveiled in an official artwork ribbon cutting ceremony.
