On Thursday September 15, Mayor Nutter officially broke ground at the Lafayette building, which over the course of the next year, will be transformed into The Hotel Monaco, a Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants property.
In October, the four-star Hotel Monaco will join Hotel Palomar as Kimpton’s second LEED-certified hotel in Philadelphia.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, "the Monaco, in Old City, will feature brightly colored, whimsical, high-energy spaces filled with pieces that a traveler might have collected along the way."
Details of the new hotel's many features and what the Monaco promises to bring to Philadelphia's tourism and business industry can be found here, on the uwishunu blog.
