NSC Appoints Steven Larin as New Deputy Director

Philadelphia’s Nationalities Service Center (NSC) announced on February 14 that Steven Larin, Esq., will be the agency’s new Deputy Director, in which he’ll serve as its top Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer. In this role, Larin will have the opportunity to expand NSC’s policy and advocacy initiatives on the Philadelphia, state and national levels. 

NSC is a service organization that has spent nearly a century empowering immigrants and refugees within Philadelphia. NSC provides a variety of services, including legal protections for immigrants and refugees, community integration support, food and basic needs material assistance, access to health and wellness services, employment support and opportunities to achieve English language proficiency. NSC is also a member of Global Philadelphia Association.

Larin started at NSC in April 2006 as a Staff Attorney, and rose through the agency’s ranks over the course of 14 years to serve in a variety of distinguished positions, including Legal Director, Interim Executive Director and Senior Director of Legal and Immigration Policy. In addition to his work with NSC, Larin has served as an Adjunct Professor for the Immigration Law Clinic at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law as well as for La Salle University’s Political Science Department. He is also a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Larin has shared his expertise on immigration by conducting community presentations and CLE trainings on various immigration topics, most recently lecturing on the Immigration Executive Actions and on Immigration Relief for Unaccompanied Children.
