By Leticia Rosa  This fall, I visited Cherry street Pier to view the unique artwork displayed at the Philadelphia Design Festival. The festival showed beautiful artwork in various forms, such as sculptures, architectural designs, and paintings. As I ventured around to see the beautiful landscape of designs all around me, I was moved to see how the art reflected so elegantly the different cultures, attitudes, and beliefs held in the Philadelphia region.

By Peak Johnson Dr. Stephen Tang, President and CEO of OraSure Technologies will be the recipient of Global Philadelphia’s 2021 Globy Award for Corporate Leadership on December 13. Before becoming president and CEO, Dr. Tang joined the OraSure Board in April 2011 and was the Company’s Chairman of the Board from 2016-2018.  Global Philadelphia had the opportunity to speak to Dr. Tang about his nomination, Orasure, and his thoughts on leadership.

By Samantha Stewart  Partnered with Unique Photo Philadelphia, a photographic supply distributor and gallery in Old City, Philadelphia, local curator Susanna Gold announced in September the U.S. debut of a world-renowned photographer: Yasuomi Hashimura. For the past two months, Hashimura’s latest solo exhibition, “Future Deja Vu”, has been on display at the Old City gallery.

By Sarah Sharp When Gabe Tiberino described his newest mural, unveiled on October 14th at ParkWest Town Center in West Philadelphia, he commented that it “showed people working together like a family community” to fulfill SDG 1:No Poverty, one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This event marked the completion of another mural project that is part of the Global Philadelphia Association’s SDG Campaign initiative.
