On December 7, Global Philadelphia Association (GPA) will hold a ceremony presenting a $12,238 donation to the World Heritage City of Lviv. Ten percent of proceeds collected to date from GPA’s annual World Heritage City Celebration (WHCC) make up the donation.

By Zola Mennis On November 17, Global Philadelphia Association unveiled their mural for Sustainable Development Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation created by artist Miriam Singer. Sponsored by the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel University, the mural has been placed outside of the Academy on the 19th Street Wall for public viewing over the next three years.

GPHCC provides Latinx entrepreneurs resources, education, and opportunities that allow their businesses to grow and thrive. In 2016, Jennifer Rodriguez was instated as the new President and CEO of GPHCC, and she has been continuing the Chamber’s mission through her efforts with the organization.

PHILADELPHIA — Mayor Jim Kenney today announced that Philadelphia’s Director of the Office of Sustainability Christine Knapp will leave City government at the end of August. Knapp has served as Director since January 2016, leading the City’s sustainability and climate action work. She previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Philadelphia Water Department beginning in September 2012.

By Peter Crimmins The ceremonial groundbreaking for a new museum dedicated to the work of Alexander Calder was thwarted on Tuesday by the Philadelphia Water Department, which dominated the lot at 21st and the Parkway with an enormous blue water main pipe waiting to go into the ground. The Water Department has to reroute the water main to make way for the new museum, which will be largely underground.
