E. Carolyn Hochstadter Dicker, Esquire was the managing attorney and principal owner of E. Carolyn Hochstadter Dicker, LLC, a WBE certified boutique law firm servicing the needs of start-up and medium sized businesses, including their founders, owners, “c-suite” and employees. The firm helps clients in the areas of entrepreneurship and day-to-day growth, risk management and contracts, employee relations and human resources, creditor rights and collections, debt restructuring and unwinding, as well as bankruptcy. 

Apart from her role at her own law practice, she also serves as the Arbitrator and Mediator at Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Carolyn also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department. Her research interests include the collaborative benefits of business and social entrepreneurship. Carolyn teaches her students the skills to become both legally savvy and socially sensitive in the business context via her course entitled The Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship. She also serves as Faculty Advisor and Mentor to the Wharton Business Law Association and the Penn Entrepreneurship Club. Carolyn has published prolifically in her field and is regularly asked to lecture in Continuing Legal Education and other professional and academic contexts.

Over the course of her practice, Carolyn has been recognized by her peers as a Philadelphia Super Lawyer and has been the recipient of the VIP Chancellor’s Award for her representation of indigent homeowners who are facing foreclosure. In addition, she has been appointed to the Honor Roll of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for her pro-active engagement in pro bono representations.

Carolyn’s firm focuses its practice in the private sector and has an established presence in Philadelphia/Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. The firm also works with international clients who benefit from Carolyn’s ability to communicate in French, Hebrew, Arabic and German.

Carolyn has significant experience with mediation. She has served as a judge for mock trial competitions and has also successfully helped individuals to save their homes through Philadelphia’s Mortgage Foreclosure Conciliation Program.
