Ms. Phanit graduated with a Master of Environmental Studies degree, with a concentration in Advocacy and Outreach, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing in 2006 from Bernard M. Baruch College and CUNY Honors College (now known as Macaulay Honors College at CUNY). Her ambition is to educate youth on global security issues, including environmental issues, with a focus on peace and justice.

She was the Administrator at GPA Member organization, Project for Nuclear Awareness, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Philadelphia. She led weekly staff meetings to ensure tasks are streamlined and completed, as well as to encourage members to discuss ideas to fulfill the organization’s mission to educate and engage youths in nuclear weapons issues. She played an integral role in the development, marketing, and implementation of NuCLEAR Skies: A Vision of a Nuclear-Free World where Helen Caldicott, MD was awarded the 2012 John C. & Chara C. Haas Award for International Peace and Social Justice. Ms. Phanit also led interns in collaborating with faculty members from various academic institutions to identify and contact nominees for the first Eisendrath Award for Youth Advocacy in Nuclear Disarmament. She also guided interns in creating, marketing, and maintaining Friends of PNA membership base and bi-monthly newsletters to garner funds and increase public support.

Ms. Phanit also holds the positions of Secretarial Director and Fundraising Coordinator of Global Children Improvement Initiative. This organization’s vision is to provide under-privileged children and youth with essentials (food, water, clothes, shoes) and resources that support them from elementary school through college and beyond. She believes that quality education is the foundation needed to instill environmental stewardship and security. Ms. Phanit is involved in the formation of the organization’s bylaws, ethics code, projects, student programs, strategic plans, and fundraising plans.

Ms. Phanit is a volunteer for the Philadelphia Global Water Initiative. Her works include:

  • Philadelphia Heroes in the Global Fight for Clean Water and Sanitation, 5-year report
  • Water Stories, an educational resource
  • Beyond Water, presented at Visions: Women for Water, a two-hour interactive side event at the 5th World Water Forum in Istanbul, Turkey

She is a member of the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia.

Ms. Phanit has skills in project management, event planning, office management, human resources, marketing, website management, database management, and non-pedagogical education.
