Raili Roy

South Asia Center's Assistant Director Raili Roy brings to the Center a rich combination of skills and experience, including a Master's degrees in History from University of Kolkata and University of Cincinnati with a specialization in comparative women's history in South Asia and United States and immigration history.

Raili has researched on, and worked extensively with different community based organizations working on women's empowerment in Kolkata, India. She is working on her dissertation titled, "Jagoron (Awakening): Construction of Gender in Non Governmental Organizations in Contemporary Bengal" for her PhD in Women's Studies from Ohio State University. With these skills, Raili is uniquely qualified to reach out to area schools and community organizations, as well as creatively manage South Asia Center's on-campus events.
