http://albustanseeds.org/ Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture's Fall 2014 Arab Music Concert Series kicks off in October with Mohsen Namjoo (Iranian singer/songwriter/setar master) and Al-Bustan Takht ensemble in a concert of Persian and Arab music. The New York Times calls Namjoo the "Iranian Bob Dylan," and his music blends Persian classical poetry with rock, blues, and jazz.
Acclaimed Palestinian-American poet and novelist Naomi Shihab Nye will read selections from her latest book with accompaniment from the Al-Bustan Takht Ensemble. The Philadelphia Arab Music Ensembles will open the performance.
