We invite you to join the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection in commemorating Juneteenth this year in Norristown, PA. Juneteenth is celebrated annually on June 19 to memorialize the emancipation of the enslaved Black Americans.
Juneteenth Jubilee Street Festival in Norristown will be a joyful celebration of heritage and community, featuring an eclectic mix of local vendors, entertainment, music, and food. As part of the celebration, there will be free admission to the Charles L. Blockson Exhibition at the Centre Theater Gallery from June 17 through June 19.
The exhibition, sponsored by the Elmwood Park Zoo, focuses on Blockson’s life work documenting the global Black experience through history. To find out more, visit the Centre Theater Gallery’s website.
