About the Lab: The 12th Annual Global Solutions Lab is June 19–27, 2016, at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA and the United Nations in New York. This year's focus is Human Rights, Sustainable Development & Design for Eliminating Extreme Poverty by 2030. Participants, from around the world will be briefed by, interact with, and question UN experts (from the UN Development Program, UN Environmental Program, UNESCO, UNICEF, WHO, FAO and other UN agencies) and then, working collaboratively in small teams, develop designs, programs and strategies that deal with one of the critical problems facing our world.
Participants will learn a powerful strategic design and planning methodology that will be of use for the rest of their lives, as well learn about leadership, problem solving and the design revolution. They will learn about global problems, options, technology, culture, resources and what they can do to make a difference. They will meet others with similar passions about the state of the world—and what we can do to make things better. The participants present their work to a group of UN, corporate and foundation leaders. After this their work is published in a book. This year's theme is Eliminating Extreme Poverty/Peace on Earth— by 2030.
The Global Solutions Lab is a structured learning experience that fosters creativity, disruptive innovations, global perspectives and local solutions. It is intense, fast-paced, and transformative.
