Global Stability & Insecurity Series: Latin America’s Role in 2017 and Beyond

The world is more interconnected than it has ever been in the history of human existence, which means that global stability depends on the web of foreign relations more than ever before. Despite the wealth of information at our fingertips, uncertainty about international affairs is also at an all-time high.

The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia continues its “Global Stability & Insecurity” discussions, this time delving into Latin America’s role in the world.

First, a panel of experts will discuss Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela, and how each country is navigating its unique set of problems and promises—from corruption and collapsing economies, to peace negotiations and protests.

Then, former President of Mexico Vicente Fox will discuss his perceptions of the future of U.S.-Mexico relations—what this relationship will look like for immigrants, for trade, and for the decades long “war on drugs.”
