Christmas Village in Philadelphia is an outside Holiday market event in Center City Philadelphia, which is modeled after the traditional Christmas Markets in Germany.

Vendors in more than 80 wooden booths will sell traditional European food, sweets and drinks. They will also offer a great shopping experience with international holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts.

Spring has finally arrived and there is no better way to celebrate than with GACC and Brauhaus Schmitz's annual Spargelfest! You are invited to attend a night filled with Chef Jeremy Nolen's Spargel (asparagus), drinks, friends, and much more. Member ticket price is $95 and non-member ticket price is $120. 

Brauhaus Schmitz, the South Street German restaurant and beer hall, is hosting a book event for exec chef Jeremy Nolen and pastry chef Jessica Nolen on Wednesday Feb. 4 at 6 pm. As we have mentioned before, the Nolens just released a cookbook called New German Cooking: Recipes for Classics Revisited on Jan. 27, which they’re celebrating with the release party next week.

June 12th 2014 kicks off the greatest sporting event in the world: World Cup - Brazil. It will take a full month and 64 games to decide which of the 32 countries comes out on top but one thing is for sure, Brauhaus will be watching all of them! Already considered one of Philadelphia's premier match destinations, make Brauhaus your home base for all the World Cup action.

On Friday, March 28, at 6pm, the German Society is delighted to partner with Chef Walter Staib and the Harriton House in Bryn Mawr to offer a narrated Colonial Cooking Experience with food and drink typically served at the time the Society was established in 1764.

Chef Staib will demonstrate the preparation of several dishes representative of the German-American cuisine during the Colonial era. He will narrate the preparation of each dish for small groups of viewers gathered around the large hearth in the colonial kitchen at Harriton House.

German Society's Annual Oktoberfest

The German Society of Pennsylvania cordially invites you to their "Second Annual Bierfest", on Saturday, February 23rd! As last year, attendees can expect a world-class beer tasting event celebrating Pennsylvania’s German brewing heritage, featuring delicious German-style beers from Pennsylvania and Germany, traditional German cuisine and live bluegrass music by the Keystone Mountain Boys.
