Dr. Jiri Stejskal is the founder and president of CETRA Language Solutions, which provides translation and interpretation services to businesses around the world. After moving to Philadelphia from his native Prague, Dr. Stejskal earned both MA and PhD degrees in Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Pennsylvania and an Executive MBA degree at Temple University. Prior to founding CETRA, he worked as a freelance translator, and he has also taught undergraduate and graduate language courses as a part-time lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania since 1990.

Dr. Stejskal is involved with many national and international language-related organizations, working to advance the industry and raise the visibility and status of language service professions in the public eye. A member of the American Translators Association (ATA) since 1991, from 2001-2009 he served successively as ATA Treasurer, President-Elect and President. He has served as Treasurer of the American Foundation for Translation and Interpretation (AFTI), and in 2011 was elected to a second three-year term as Vice President of the International Federation of Translators (FIT).

Also active in the business world, Dr. Stejskal sits on the board of the Entrepreneurs' Forum of Greater Philadelphia and volunteers with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). In 2011, he joined the Education, Employment & Training Committee for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which directs Chamber policy relating to all issues that affect education and workforce development.
