The NALAC National Conference is the only national conference in the United States that specifically convenes Latino artists and arts professionals. More than 500 participants are expected to attend from across the nation. The NALAC national conference weaves diverse participants together and highlights thriving Latino artistic communities across the United States. Conference participants and speakers share their knowledge, resources, and strategies; create new relationships; plan artistic collaborations and organizational partnerships; and reaffirm or alter the field’s national agenda.

The World Affairs Council presents the first in its Eye on the Economy series, featuring Larry Rohter, New York Times reporter and former South American bureau chief and Hal Weitzman, Financial Times Midwest. Rohter and Weitzman will discuss South America and its rapid economic growth, falling joblessness rates and decreasing debt. They will raise the question of whether it's possible that instead of dictating to Latin America, the United States should be following its lead.
