The Welcome Reception introduces international students and scholars to the Philadelphia area and to the rich network of global communities and resources in the region. The event is provided free of charge to international students and scholars from universities in the Delaware Valley region, featuring live multicultural performances and cuisine.

This 7th Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) Annual Expo is a community event to showcase various service providers that serve the Asian community with issues, such as Housing, Problem Gambling, Social Services and Youth program, and to increase familiarity of the Chinatown community with those providers who have not yet had a chance to outreach to the members of the community.

Kurt M. Campbell is the Founding Partner, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of The Asia Group. He also serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of the Center for a New American Security, an independent director on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank, and a member of the Advisory Board of the UC San Diego School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, the Advisory Board of the Association of Marshall Scholars, the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, and the Trilateral Commission. An exceptionally fluent, lyrical vocalist, Sanhita Nandi is a prominent North Indian classical performer in the Khayal and Thumri genres. She has been praised as a brilliant exponent of two Kirana gharana (musical lineage) pillars: alap, the opening exposition of a performance’s raga (melodic system), and sargam, singing the names of the notes of a composition with virtuoso ornamentation. Nandi will be accompanied by Ramchandra Joshi on harmonium and Aqeel Bhatti on tabla.
