Calling for Nominations: Eisendrath Award for Youth Advocacy in Nuclear Disarmament

 On March 29, 2012 the Project for Nuclear Awareness (PNA) will present the John C. & Chara C. Haas Award for International Peace and Social Justice to Helen Caldicott, MD founding president of Physicians for Social Responsibility and a Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient. In honor of PNA Chairman and Co-Founder Dr. Craig Eisendrath – a former U.S. Foreign Service Officer who continues to dedicate his work to a nuclear weapons-free world–PNA will present the First Annual Eisendrath Award for Youth Advocacy in Nuclear Disarmament to a qualified student and/or youth. 

This person must be between 18-29 years of age and have demonstrated a commitment to nuclear disarmament in either of the following areas:

  • International peace
  • Human rights
  • Public health
  • Environmental sustainability. 

Applicants’ commitments will be judged via their participation in volunteer work, community service, internships, student groups or organizations. Additional consideration will be given to those who are well-spoken on the issue and have shown significant dedication to educational outreach.

Furthermore, the recipient must be able to attend the Haas Award Ceremony, which will take place on

In addition to the Eisendrath Award for Youth Advocacy in Nuclear Disarmament, the student/youth will receive a $250 grant from PNA.
