http://www.peacedayphilly.org/ Peace Day Philly is a volunteer initiative that promotes local participation in the United Nations International Day of Peace (“Peace Day”), a worldwide day of ceasefire and non-violence observed annually on September 21. The Peace Day Philly initiative welcomes organizations, neighborhoods, community groups, schools, law enforcement, civic leaders and individuals to participate in this global day by creating and participating in peace and non-violence activities on and around September 21 in the Philadelphia region.
Personal, local and global levels of peace are interconnected – mindfulness and action in one area affects another area. We welcome Peace Day activities that involve or explore the interconnectedness of several levels of peace.
Peace Day Philly aligns with the sustained work of the United Nations and many NGOs across the world working to build a “Culture of Peace.”
