http://www.ricdc.org/ Research and Integrated Community Development Center (RICDC) is a registered, tax exempt (501.c.3) not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to prevent HIV/AIDS to live a healthy and independent life.
Our goals are:
- To empower Africans in the Diaspora, especially the United States, who are living with HIV/AIDS to function normally in their environments.
- To empower Africans living on the continent living with HIV/AIDS to function normally in their environments.
- To design and implement an HIV/AIDS outreach program in Liberia.
- To alleviate poverty and mitigate the socio-economic impacts of HIV/AIDS among the people living with HIV/AIDS and thos affected by this deadly disease.
- To expand access to testing, treatment and care, particularly for women, children and youth.
- To prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
- To support communities helping orphans and vulnerable children and youth.
- To strengthen health care systems.
Our key strategies are people's participation and community ownership through voluntary action to discourage discrimination against people infected with the HIV/AIDS virus, promote behavior change, strengthen community-based health-care programs and prevent high risk behavior that encourages HIV/AIDS infection.
