Cathleen M. Zurbach, Director of New Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships for Women’s Campaign International (WCI), is responsible for seeking opportunities to expand WCI’s international programs of development, advocacy, and women’s leadership as well as developing innovative and effective projects both domestically and abroad.

Ms. Zurbach holds two law degrees - a Juris Doctorate and a LL.M in Transnational Law. She served as law clerk to judges in both the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts; practiced law with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York; and studied Japanese law and East/West negotiation techniques at Temple University School of Law in Tokyo, Japan. Ms. Zurbach was a member of the Steering Committee for the International Colloquium on Women’s Empowerment, Leadership Development, and International Peace & Security in 2008- 2009.

Recently, Ms. Zurbach trained 250 rural women leaders in Liberia at the 3rd Annual National Rural Women’s Program (NRWP) Conference in partnership with the Ministry of Gender and Development; worked with the First Ladies of Africa on a legacy initiative at the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and was a panelist on the Women’s Political Participation Panel at the Women in the Balkans Conference in Tirana, Albania. Ms. Zurbach is currently working with WCI”s programs in Liberia, the MENA region and the Balkans.
