The Citizen Diplomat of the Year Award will be presented to Stephan A. Grupp, MD, PhD, a pediatric oncologist with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We will recognize Dr.Grupp for raising Philadelphia’s international profile through his innovative advancements in medicine and his commitment to ensuring that people all around the world  have access to this treatment.

This year is going to be BIGGER and BETTER. The show is all things African Fashion and Art and this year the group decided to pay homage to African Hair and Body Paint too. We expect to provide our guests and participants not only a great show but a unique opportunity to witness showmanship of different talents in African fashion, beauty and hair.

New York Times journalist, Anemona Hartocollis, has been chosen as the National Resource Centers’ Global Distinguished Lecturer for 2016. In her talk she will discuss her experience following a group of migrants and refugees from the Greek Island of Kos to Denmark. She will explore the struggles, hopes and desires of people she met along the way and ponder the unknown outcomes of this mass exodus from the Middle East and North Africa.

SUKHISHILI has performed for fifty million people in eighty-eight countries on five continents. It was a headline attraction with New York City Ballet for the George Balanchine Centennial. It has previously performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Avery Fisher Hall, Madison Square Garden Albert Hall, the Rome Coliseum and La Scala where it was enthusiastically welcomed with rousing ovation and a record-setting number of curtain calls.
